Benjamin was born October 8, 1913 to Elder George and Mamie Richardson in Roanoke, Virginia. He was a WW II Naval Veteran who  worked as an independent contractor and interior decorator for many years. As a teenager, Bishop Richardson was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost in Steubenville, Ohio. He was an ordained minister of the Apostolic Faith in Jesus Christ.

Bishop Richardson was founder and Pastor of the Refuge Church of Christ Apostolic Faith for over 40 years. At the age of 99, he peacefully passed from this life into eternity on October 10, 2012.
