Who's Who in Pentecost > Marshall, Andrew L.

Bishop Andrew L. "Buddy" Marshall

On January 11, 1943 Andrew Lee Marshall Sr. and Annie Marshall welcomed a baby boy, Andrew Lee "Buddy" Marshall Jr.

Full of zest for life, Andrew found himself involved in the local YMCA, church camps, and Boy Scouts of America. Growing up above a Memphis, TN beer joint named, "Ships Anchor," he was in the wrong environment and influences. Buddy would find himself in gangs and running as a "River Rat" along the banks of the Mississippi. It was God that intervened when his parents received the Holy Ghost.Eventually the family moved to Booneville, MS and God would fill him with the Holy Ghost at the age of 17.

It was on a blind date that he met his future wife, Addean Newby. They were blessed with four children, Andrea, Doreen, Phillip, and Andrew Lee III. The family would move back to Memphis and Bro. Marshall would receive his call into the ministry under his pastor, Rev. John H. Ford. God moved on him to start a home missions work in Collierville, TN., Collierville United Pentecostal Church. Slowly the church would move from a store front to a building and the renamed assembly, MT. Calvary United Pentecostal Church, laid a solid foundation.

God kept the passion and hunger for home missions in Bro, Marshall and he would move to Holly Springs, MS to begin a new work. Starting in a lady's field, Landmark Temple of the Lord Jesus Christ would grow from a tent to a newly built building. Yet, God had another plan.

He would call him back to Booneville, MS to serve as interim pastor for East Booneville Pentecostal Church. With the opposition to growth he was forced to resign only to have the majority of the congregation move with him. After much prayer and fasting a church began to grow from meeting in the Woodman of the World building to County Road 7149 in Jumpertown. The small town began to see revival and First Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ flourished from a tent on borrowed land to a beautiful building.

Bro. Marshall has always had a heart for missions and over the year's, doors would open for him to travel and minister in foreign countries. Life changing miracles and wonders would follow is Africa, South America, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, the Philippines, Israel, and Jordan. New works were established as Bro. Marshall worked as a liaision to give strength, hope and encouragement to the ministry. Those churches are still thriving today. He currently presided as Bishop for Rev. Duncan in Africa as well as the First Apostolic Church of Jumpertown.
